Shetland Pony Stallions
Here are the sires of our foals, some stallions we have owned, others have been kindly loaned.
KERSWELL SHARIF - FOR SALE
Born 2020
Sire: Kerswell Sabre Dam: Kerswell Syrinx
Very pleased to have this well bred boy from Jane Dennis’s renowned Kerswell Stud. Sharif was licensed in 2023 and is a wonderful boy in every way. He has a kind, laid back temperament and is easy to handle. Blue roan with 2 hind white socks, breeds broken and solid coloured foals.
Sharif is reluctantly for sale as we only breed small numbers and have decided to retain our homebred boy.
kettlesnout pippin
Born 2021
Sire: South Sands Rhubarb Dam: Valentine Sukia
Passed his VVE March 2024. Our home bred colt – a super, well marked dun with minimal white and long white stockings. Pippin has been tested and confirmed as carrying the mushroom gene, inherited from his sire. He has good bone and conformation together with a wealth of mane and a lovely, friendly temperament. We look forward to seeing his first foals.
SOUTH SANDS RHUBARB - loaned by Courellis stud
Born 1999
Sire: Firth Honeyclover Dam: Toyhorse Dahlia
Rhubarb is the resident stallion at Courellis Stud, previously a stallion at Merrylees Stud. Kindly loaned to us in 2020 and sire of our 2021 foals. He produces top quality foals. Rhubarb is an absolute gent of a boy who passes his temperament and tremendous bone down to his stock. Grateful thanks to Danielle Ellis for the loan of this wonderful boy.
MERRIVILLE PRINCE CHARMING (NOW IN HOLLAND)
Born 2015
Sire: Kerswell Norseman
Dam: Merriville Pretzel
A super boy, bought as a foal, we ran him on and licensed him as a stallion. A grandson of Ron of North Wells, Prince gave us some lovely foals but having retained Tilly and Silvie and being unable to keep too many stallions, he was sold to Holland. He now leads an award winning driving team of six piebald shetlands.
gaterley creme de la creme (now in wales)
Born 2009
Sire: Gaterley Golden Fleece
Dam: Gaterley Golden Moment
Creme is a nice natured boy, a pleasure to have around. He’s the sire of 3 Kettlesnout fillies in 2017 and 3 fillies in 2020. Well done Creme 6/6 fillies.
corley oak easter bobby dazzler
LOANED BY CORLEY OAK STUD
Born 2009
Sire: Champlers Fairy Sovereign
Dam: Braywood Vanilla
Grateful thanks to Corley Oak Stud for the loan of Bob in 2016. He gave us more lovely foals, not least our cremello, Snowdrop, who we retained. Bob is looking great on this photo, being shown by Ali – she’s amazing at preparing ponies for showing, not easy getting that wealth of mane so clean!
Dilston piper (now in finland)
Born 2005
Sire: Park View Daniel
Dam: Myrtle of Bayfield
A lovely boy, sire of 8 foals at Kettlesnout including Evie. Kindly given to us as a foal from Sue and Peter Jackson at Dilston Stud after Sunny’s colt was stillborn. He has a fantastic temperament, just like his wonderful dad.
